Two Leg Side to Side Jumps
Two Leg Side to Side Jumps
Purpose: Plyometric. Fast twitch recruitment. Athletic coordination. Glutes, quads, calves, ankles, and feet.
Quick Coaching Cues
- Coordinate the arms with the jumps, swing arms from the shoulders.
- Push off and land on both feet at the same time.
- Jump with some power.
Common Mistakes
- Not coordinating the arms or not using the arms at all.
- Pushing off and landing flat-footed. Contact the ground at the mid-foot (balls of the feet).
- Not giving enough power into the jumps. Jump with some power and control. You don’t need to jump as far as possible, just more power than a hop.
- Landing stiff legged. Land soft and fast into a quarter squat.
