Agility Ladder Forwards 2 In, Up 2 Back 1

Purpose: Athletic coordination, fast twitch recruitment, multi-planar general hip, foot and ankle strength.

Quick Coaching Cues

  • For each rep down the ladder, one foot will lead forwards. For example, on the way down the right foot will always be the first to advance forwards. On the way back, the left foot will lead.
  • Try to contact the ground from your mid-foot.
  • Keep knees slightly bent.
  • Move as quick as you can maintain control.

Common Mistakes

  • Contacting the ground flat-footed.
  • Legs too straight, keep a slight bend in the knees.
  • Taking too many steps. This pattern is only a 2-count. No extra steps.
