Walking In & Out

Purpose: Beginner level agility ladder pattern. Coordination, balance, multi-planar general hip, foot and ankle strength.

Quick Coaching Cues

  • Go down the ladder with your right leg leading, and come back with your left leg leading…OR you can go down with your right leg leading, walk back, and complete the pattern facing the other side with your left leg leading.
  • Try to contact the ground from your mid-foot.
  • Keep knees slightly bent.

Common Mistakes

  • Contacting the ground flat-footed.
  • Legs too straight, keep a slight bend in the knees.
  • Taking too many steps. This pattern is only a 2-count. No extra steps.
