Purpose: Athletic coordination, fast twitch recruitment, multi-planar general hip, foot and ankle strength.

Quick Coaching Cues

  • When moving to the left, the left leg leads. When moving to the right, the right leg leads.
  • When a leg is leading, it means it’s the first to go in a square and out.
  • Try to contact the ground from your mid-foot.
  • Keep knees slightly bent.
  • Move as quick as you can maintain control.

Common Mistakes

  • Leading with the wrong leg.
  • Contacting the ground flat-footed.
  • Legs too straight, keep a slight bend in the knees.
  • Taking too many steps. This pattern is only a 4-count. No extra steps.
