Agility Ladder Lateral Hip Fire
Purpose: Coordination, balance, multi-planar general hip, foot and ankle strength.
Quick Coaching Cues
- When moving to the left, lead with the left foot. When moving to the right, lead with the right foot.
- Complete the pattern down & back on the same side, for example, right leg down, left leg back. OR, complete the pattern down, walk/jog back, and complete the pattern from the opposite side of the ladder, leading with your other foot.
- Contact the ground from your mid-foot.
- Keep knees slightly bent.
- Move as quick as you can maintain control.
Common Mistakes
- Contacting the ground flat-footed.
- Legs too straight, keep a slight bend in the knees.
- Not coordinating the arms with the legs.
- Taking too many steps. This pattern is only a 4-count.
