Forward B Skips
Purpose: Athletic rhythm and coordination. Hamstring activation. Ankle elasticity.
Quick Coaching Cues
- Complete drill for your desired distance, walk or jog back and repeat.
- Coordinate opposite arm with opposite leg.
- Swing arms from the shoulders and elbows, not just elbows.
- Foot contact from mid-foot or balls of the foot.
Common Mistakes
- Using same arm with the same side leg.
- Flat footed on the support leg.
- Not keeping the toe pulled up (dorsiflexed) when the knee drives up and pulls down.
- Only moving the arms at the elbows and not also from the shoulders.
