Purpose: Athletic rhythm and coordination. Hamstring activation. Ankle elasticity.

Quick Coaching Cues

  • Complete drill for your desired distance, walk or jog back and repeat.
  • Coordinate opposite arm with opposite leg.
  • Swing arms from the shoulders and elbows, not just elbows.
  • Foot contact from mid-foot or balls of the foot.

Common Mistakes

  • Using same arm with the same side leg.
  • Flat footed on the support leg.
  • Not keeping the toe pulled up (dorsiflexed) when the knee drives up and pulls down.
  • Only moving the arms at the elbows and not also from the shoulders.
