Chair Seated Hand Resisted Abduction
Purpose: General strength. Chest and hips.
Quick Coaching Cues
- Sit tall near the front of the chair with your core braced and feet flat.
- Press your hands against the outside of your knees while driving your knees outward.
- Hold for 10-15 seconds, rest for 3-5 seconds, and repeat for 3-4 sets.
Common Mistakes
- Rushing. Hold and maintain constant pressure for 10-15 seconds.
- Letting the knees drift inward because the outward press is too weak.
- Using jerky effort instead of smooth, controlled tension.
