Chair Supported Bent Over Single Arm “I” Raise
Chair Supported Bent Over Single Arm “I” Raise
Purpose: Upper body strength. Shoulders and upper back.
Quick Coaching Cues
- Support yourself on the chair, hinge at the hips, and keep your back flat.
- Raise your arm straight overhead in line with your body to form an “I.”
- Keep your shoulder down and move with control through the upper back.
Common Mistakes
- Rounding the back or standing too upright instead of staying hinged.
- Shrugging the shoulder up toward the ear during the raise.
- Swinging the arm with momentum instead of lifting with control.
