Ice Skaters
Purpose: Lateral plyometrics and agility. General athletic aerobic conditioning.
Quick Coaching Cues
- Coordinate arm movement with the lateral movement. Reach with the left arm when jumping to the right.
- Push-off and contact the ground from the balls of your foot.
- Land soft with a bent knee.
If this is too easy, you can add a touch to the ground like this variation, or you can increase the power like this variation.
Common Mistakes
- Moving same arm with the same side leg.
- Pushing off and landing flat footed.
- Landing with a stiff leg.
